Summer Design Office 2011
I have spent this summer working together with four Industrial Design students from NTNU (Norwegian University of Science and Technology) and HIAK (Akershus University College) at our Summer Design Office in Flekkefjord, Norway.
Sommerdesignkontor is an initiative started by Bedriftsforbundet and Innovation Norway, and is a collaboration between Industrial Design students, local companies, and their accompanying muncipalities. The aim of the project is to prove the importance of design as a tool for growth and new opportunities for these small companies.
Our office has been engaged in seven projects over a period of nine weeks, ranging from to product design to developing business strategies.
I have been the project manager for two of the projects, responsible for the complete process from early briefings and meetings all the way through the final presentations. The work has been very instructive and brings with it invaluable experience working with real life projects after only three years of study.
